Life on Skates – An interview with Greg Mirzoyan



What makes skating fun for you, and would you recommend it as a viable way to stay fit?
Skating gives me a feeling of freedom that I’ve never experienced in any other sport.
Would I recommend it as a variable way to stay fit? Absolutely, skating is a very good workout on the abs, and helps you develop good leg strength. It is also a great way to do cardio training without damaging your knees (as opposed to running).

What advice would you give someone that wants to take their inline skating to the next level?
Skating well backwards is very important and being able to look behind from both sides is even better, learning emergency brakes is vital, learning how to fall without hurting yourself can also be useful if you like taking risks.  Getting used to tight curves is important and learning how to jump and lift your legs high can always help you avoid last second obstacles.

We have seen you skating and filming in some amazing locations around the world, do you have any new and exciting locations in mind for the future?
Oh yes always, I haven’t been to Japan yet and I really want to go there. I also want to carry on visiting South America, as well as Hongkong and Shanghai, those are my priorities, but otherwise the list is very long.
