Explain the feeling you had the first time you put on skates.
The first time I skated I was 7 years old. I was so happy to be able to try them. I advanced 5 meters and fell to the ground. It was magical!!!!! My mother came and pulled me up. She told me to keep going and not give up. This sentence will remain etched in my memory and it helps me every day to move forward.
What is your inspiration to keep skating?
I see skates every day. Seeing them, I imagine what I will be able to do with them. The world inspires me; all skaters inspire me. It makes me want to continue what I do. New architecture is built every day in town and makes you want to go out and skate.
We truly believe skating makes a better world. How do you think skating makes the world a better place?
Skating is an individual activity, but is most often done in a group. When we skate together, we talk, we laugh, we try new movement, and have fun. Skating makes people happy. If everyone goes to work on skates, goes shopping on skate, moves around on skates, the world would be happy and so would the planet!
How do you keep progressing and reinventing yourself?
To progress, you have to train. No pain no gain. Today I managed to incorporate skating into my muscle-building program thanks to Ben Brillante's X-fit challenge. This allows me to see another dimension with my skates.
What’s the most helpful tip you want to share with any skater?
Skate as often as possible. Enjoy the scenery and have fun. Enjoy your life.
Imagine a world filled with animals who can skate. If you could be any of those animals what would you be and why?
I will be a sifaka lemur, because they have a way of moving on the ground that is funny. They can jump over 50 meters to go on another tree. It’s a little what we do in skating, we skate and jump everywhere before reaching our destination.
