In 2011, the American College of Sports Medicine issued guidelines stating that at least 250 minutes of exercise per week provides "clinically significant" weight loss. As an ACSM spokesman pointed out, that's just 35 minutes a day. It doesn't sound bad, but there are hidden costs-you drive to the gym, park, check in, change, fumble with your padlock, work out for those 35 minutes, shower, step around someone else's wet towels, then drive home. Well more than an hour has vanished from your day. And don't you deserve a latte on the way home?
