Explain the feeling you had the first time you put on skates:
It felt like pure freedom. The closest I've felt to flying. There was this mix of fear and excitement, like stepping into a whole new world where movement suddenly feels like flying.
What is your inspiration to keep skating?
Skating is my moving meditation. It reminds me to stay present, to keep pushing past my limits, and to find joy in movement. The community and the energy keep me inspired every day.
We truly believe skating makes a better world. How do you think skating makes the world a better place?
Skating connects people across backgrounds, generations, and borders. It teaches patience, resilience, and self-expression—and when you share a skate space, you’re sharing more than pavement—you’re sharing stories, smiles, and support.
How do you keep progressing and reinventing yourself?
As a recovering perfectionist, skating has helped me enjoy the present moment, accept failure as a natural and inevitable part of growth, and let go of the fear that comes with making mistakes. Skating has shown me not to focus on the end goal or finish line, rather to embrace the journey, with all its continuous change and growth.
What’s the most helpful tip you want to share with any skater?
Don’t be afraid to fall—it means you’re trying. Progress isn’t linear, and the best trick you’ll ever learn is how to get back up.
Imagine a world filled with animals who can skate. If you could be any of those animals what would you be and why?
I’d be a panther—graceful, powerful, and smooth on the glide.
